EXPOSED RIM TABLEWARE
Originally created for the Blue Egg Gallery Easter exhibition 2020, this collection of work is inspired by traditional English pottery forms, glazed in a range of coloured bone ash glazes and reduction fired.
A continuation and development of the wall tiles, looking at texture and depth of colour within one glaze. These slab rolled platters were designed to be used at the table, specifically for use as bread platters at the Cliff House Restaurant in Ardmore.
A research project, using thick slabs of crank clay and a range of glazes to create ceramic 'paintings'. This collection included many sizes of wall tiles, supporting a large centre piece.
Inspired by a Ladi Kwali piece, this collection was made for the 2019 Summer Exhibition, Grennan Mill.
Made in sections, assemled and thrown, the large pots were layered in slips and washes before a reduction firing. Each piece sits in a thrown ceramic ring bound in natural died wool.
IRON SPOT CELADON
Designed and made for the 2019 Summer exhibition, Grennan Mill.
A limited range of functional tableware, thrown in white stoneware and reduction fired in a range of unsieved celadon glazes.
